volvo 850 turbo wagon - 205-45-17 - I experienced sidewall failure with these tires. Two seperate events on seperate occasions both within 100 yards of each other on I-5 near Gorman CA. (A bad stretch admittedly) In 40+ years of driving performance cars/tires I have NEVER had a sidewall failure. These I beleive that these tire's carbon sidewall contruction is defective in certain circumstances and potentially dangerous. Goodyear did not have the curtesy to even listen to my concern. Blaming "whatever" as the cause. The tires handling traction etc . is outstanding. They are noisy AND transmit an icredible amount of noise & vibration that I would also attribute to the stiff sidewall construction. Be vary wary of these tires for real world highway use.

275/40ZR17 - I have had three sets of these tires on my Corvette Coupe and have gotten about 40,000 per set. I have another corvette convertible and got 40,000 on those. Switched to Michelin and only got about 30,000 per set.

Jaguar S-Type Sport - 235/50ZR17 - Great tire...for the first 5,000 miles. Then the road noise became unbearable. Much better handling and wet traction than the Contis I had originally but the noise is just too much. Am replacing at about 10,000 miles now because I've spent the last 5,000 having the tire dealer try to find a problem.
