  • My daily commute is just over 100km, just north of Toronto into the city. Were I live is like the border for heavy snow fall in the winter. Knowing that the majority of my driving would be south of my home and consist of mostly hwy driving. I choose this tire based on the lighter snow fall. I’ve had the opportunity to extensively drive two different vehicles equipped with these tires. The first was a 06 supercharged Grand Prix the second was a 06 Cadillac CTS w/sport package. Both vehicles were extremely quiet at hwy speeds on this tire. Wet or dry cornering is more than adequate due to the huge lugs on the outside edge. Moderate to light snow fall, unplowed side streets, accelerating or braking on ice was considerably better with the Grand Prix as there was more weight the drive wheels. If you are going to install these tires on a RWD vehicle seriously consider the amount of snow fall in your driving area. Examining the tread pattern alone you can see this tire is not a heavy snow fall tire, definitely more suited for cold and wet conditions.

  • Acura TL 06 - 17 - Stopping is excellent with these tires. I can slam my brakes on almost an snow covered surface and it catches almost well as on dry surface. Have to brake hard before abs kicks in. Acceleration is ok in snow (shallow or deep). Tires do wander some in deep snow, but handling is predictable. Even when/if car slides its easy to get under control. Could be better, but for the price, cant complain.

  • I am a longtime Blizzak purchaser, and while I agree that they wear quickly, nothing seems to provide that sure grip on hard-pack and deep snows up here in Tahoe. I got a "deal" on some Hankook Icebears on my wife's '09 Subaru Impreza and I'm really regretting it. I'm a pretty defensive winter driver and I've gotten the car scary loose on two benign curves that I normally could take at 10 mph faster in my other car with Blizzaks without incident. Luckily the Subie has a great stability control, but it's enough to make me sweat up here in Tahoe. Anyway, this will be my last pair of Icebears.

  • SAAB 97X - 18" - Terrible tires. I am slipping and sliding all over the road. In fact I would rate them as dangerous.
