  • If you want a top rain tire, that will stick to the road no matter how much rain is falling and how fast you are driving, and you don't care about noise and treadware, then this is the tire to get. I've put these tires on my Dodge Grand Caravan, my daughter's Audi A4, and my wife's Volvo V70 wagon and we all love them. We rotate, balance and align every five thousand miles. On the van, I've notice that I'm getting good use out of them. On the Volvo, we've got 37,000 miles on them and they are bald on the edges already, and quickly getting near the wear bars. This is with proper inflation and consistent maintinence. My wife only uses this car to drive back and from work, which is only a ten minute drive in town. We've taken two holiday trips and put several thousand miles on them at highway speeds. That should not account for the wear. I took them back to where we got them from, Tire Kingdom, and asked about the 90K treadware warranty. They said sorry, but because you can't show receipts for rotation and alignment every so many miles, they won't do anything for you (we had had them balanced and rotated on the road and can't produce the receipt). So be warned, these are GREAT tires for rain. You will be very safe with them on your vehicle. But many customers are reporting only forty to fifty thousand miles of treadware and that Michelin will not honor it's warranty if you can't prove you had them rotated, balanced and aligned religiously. They'll claim it's the car that is wearing them out and not the fault of the tire. Again, even though they are very expensive, we love the tire. Firm ride, incredible grip to the road even in heavy downpoars, not too loud, looks great, etc. But beware of excessive treadware and a warranty that is hard to collect on. I'm now going to get new tires and after extensive research, will consider Hankook Optimo H727, Yokohama Avid Envigor (H&V), and Sumitomo HTR A/S PO1, all top rated rain tires at much lower prices.
