Does this tire fit?

For passenger cars and minivans, the new MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2TM tire is the best overall winter performing tire*, engineered to tackle most extreme cold weather driving conditions.

Features:

  • Michelin's advanced tread block technology is a combination of multiple sipes and micro-pumps with a state-of-the-art rubber silica-based compound called FleX-Ice™ technology. This progressive, engineered combination helps deliver optimized tractive grip and exceptional braking on ice.
  • The MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2™ tire lasts 75% longer than the leading competitor without affecting other performances†. The depth of the Cross Z Sipes II and the Step Groove design help provide enhanced mobility, particularly in deep snow, winter after winter.
  • A wide tread contact patch generates acceleration and braking power, as well as cornering traction, for outstanding winter manoeuvering. Supporting knobs help provide stability on wet and dry roads in the winter, helping the MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2™ tire deliver the best overall winter traction, along with superior ice performance

Good snow traction. Soft comfortable ride. Excellent treadlife. After almost 20k miles, the tires were still at 5/8". I had to drive on these for a few months in the summer time (80F+), which I thought would make them toast, but they lasted a few more winters. (Note: I don't recommend driving on these in the summer, as braking performance is lacking compared to A/S or summer tires.) In the snow, they gave me confidence. Fairly good rolling resistance too, so MPG was pretty good. Overall, if good treadlife and decent snow handling is what you want, then these (or the next gen X-Ice 3) should be great.

Shockingly poor in the snow, all season tires would be as good in the snow.

Don't understand why this is called a snow tire? I only rated them as a "1" because I couldn't submit the review with a "0". Thankfully it has only snowed a couple times since I had these installed. But even with 5 people in the car and driving very slowly - the car slides all over when trying to stop on snowy roads. Would definitely NOT recommend these tires for snow. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I would probably be better off with my regular all-season tires in snow.
