For passenger cars and minivans, the new MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2TM tire is the best overall winter performing tire*, engineered to tackle most extreme cold weather driving conditions. Features: - Michelin's advanced tread block technology is a combination of multiple sipes and micro-pumps with a state-of-the-art rubber silica-based compound called FleX-Ice™ technology. This progressive, engineered combination helps deliver optimized tractive grip and exceptional braking on ice.
- The MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2™ tire lasts 75% longer than the leading competitor without affecting other performances†. The depth of the Cross Z Sipes II and the Step Groove design help provide enhanced mobility, particularly in deep snow, winter after winter.
- A wide tread contact patch generates acceleration and braking power, as well as cornering traction, for outstanding winter manoeuvering. Supporting knobs help provide stability on wet and dry roads in the winter, helping the MICHELIN® X-Ice® Xi2™ tire deliver the best overall winter traction, along with superior ice performance

So many bad comment BUT I love those tire, very good on ice, very good on snow (if you have a smooth accelaration and braking habit), the quietest tire on the market. If you drive according to condition you will love those tire no problem. the price on those tire are pretty expensive but worth every cent. I drive 140 km per day. so far this years we had everything that mother nature produce , never got stuck. ICE GRIP IS the top on my list, SNOW traction second. would buy those tire again

There are a lot of comments that are really irrelevant. A good snow tire has to be judged on one single criterion: does it provide traction in unplowed, deep snow. The fools that test these on slushy roads at 120 km/hour should be locked up anyway. Who does that? I'm not interested in committing suicide to test whether my "snow tire" can be used to race up to Pembroke from Ottawa...btw, "tyre", are you kidding me? This is a good tire. And you can actually get them.

Fantastic winter tire for our Vibe. Our all-seasons (Michelin Primacy) are not cheap, and have great dry performance, but are terrible on snow and ice. On the other hand, the X-Ice makes it feel like I'm driving a tank. You can sure tell who does and who doesn't have good winter tires when other cars are struggling to get moving on ice after the light turns green, and are moving slowly due to minimal traction. I can drive past them with confidence. Too early to comment on tread wear, but I hope they last longer than our Blizzaks did.

I think you guys are just horrible drivers, who don't know how to control your car at all. Snow tires do not make your car invincible. These tires are incredible.

Well, I am using the Latitude Xice xi2's...on a 2011 F150 pickup. I have used exclusively Blizzaks in the past on my vehicles. So, inital impressions are that the Xi2's are FAR superior on dry roads, wet and for turns / handling. Noise and comfort is also significantly better. Light snow traction is great, deep snow traction is sacrificed somewhat due to the reduced tread depth. Ice traction is excellent but not quite up to Blizzak standards - but nothing beats the Blizzaks in that regard - Nothing.
However, these tires were vastly cheaper where I purchased them as compared to the Blizzaks and have a 60,000 KM tread wear warranty - which is amazing for snow tires. Overall, these Latitude Xice xi2's have preformed very well in the past couple of snowfalls we have experienced. Most people expect a snow tire to do everything perfectly, but that is not reality. Essentially, each company has to make some sacrifices. Blizzaks wear out SUPER fast, but give the best ice traction whereas the xice xi2's are vastly superior in the dry / wet /slush road areas....there is no magic bullet.
If michelin wants to improve them, make the tread blocks more distinct and tread depth deeper for the "heavy deep snow" times. other than that....good tires.
