Nitto NT420S
  • Price Range:  USD $151.99 to $660.99
    All Season

The NT420S was specifically engineered to provide confident performance in rain or shine. The outer shoulder has large, continuous blocks to improve dry traction, while the inner shoulder channels away water for wet performance. The NT420S has a non-directional tread pattern that can be rotated front to back and side-to-side. This freedom of rotation can provide even wear across the tread and reduce the irregular wear that is commonly associated with directional tires. Even wear ensures a quieter, more comfortable ride and longer tread life. The result is a stress-free, high performance radial.

Tires are still fairly new to me but, have excellent wet and dry handling, The other day a driver pulled out in front of me while it just started raining, let me say without these tires, I am almost positive I would have hit the other driver. A bit noisy, and also stiff but that could be due to tire size.

I bought these tires and could find little to no information regarding how they perform in the snow. So let me tell you, after driving from Florida to Northern Michigan 3 weeks ago for Christmas vacation I can tell you without a doubt that these tires perform excellent in the snow! I had our Escalade on roads that had not been plowed and it performed excellent. We had no issues driving in snow that was in excess of 5". Now keep in mind that I was in an AWD vehicle but truth be told, I was impressed with how they handled. Of course they were excellent in both dry and extremely wet conditions. If anyone is considering these tires and is worried about winter driving, don't be. You only need be concerned if you are totally unfamiliar with winter weather driving....in that case, stay home. I was passing 4 wheel drive trucks with ease on the freeway running 60mph in the unplowed passing lane and never once felt unsafe. Point to note is that I do have 20+ years driving experience in the snow.
