Note: I am running the 98 load rated tires, in case that makes a difference. They are a bit heavier.
I typed up a very detailed review, but this site has no warning if you exceed the character limit, and it errors out and you lose everything. So here's just my wrap-up, less all the great specifics. Not my fault!
SUMMARY: if you don't take your vehicle up into the mountains (or the roads are usually cleared), and you experience pretty variable temperatures down to quite cool, and enjoy sporty handling, then you will probably have a ball with these *IF* you can get them on sale. If not on sale, it is just too costly, even though they are such fun.

I'd recommend the Hakka 5 or the new 7. Had them in all winter conditions and they are great. Our SUV is equipped with the H 5 studded, saves us an accident on black ice.
The Sotto's came with my new C4matic, have driven under hard pack snow and light, not as efficient as the Hakka, skids more on curvy roads, the snow doesn't seems to escape efficiently. On highway, rain and dry no complain, handles pretty well. For some reason, the noise level is high between 70 - 85Km/h, on highway it's acceptable.

Positive: good grip on wet and dry road decent good in snow
Negative side - extremely noisy compared to other big brands and that's enough for me not to buy them again. On previous winters I've used Vredestein Wintrac, Dunlop Winter Sport, Good Years and Marangoni Meteo HP and these were fantastic especially Vredesteins but NONE of these were as noisy as the pirellis.
My honest advice: If you think spending a small fortune for a winter tire just avoid these Pirrelis as you'll be disappointed unless the loud tire noise won't bother you.

Put these tires on about a month early. I have to say so far with the cold temps and wet
weather we get in October in the GTA I can't wait to see what they can do when the white
stuff shows up. I read all the reviews and I must say I very pleased with the handling and
braking I've experienced. These tires even out perform the Goodyear GT tires I have on the
car in the summer. I've had the P-4's on my pervious vehicle and they were great allseason
tires, I can say much more. I recommend these Pirelli's 5 STARS.
