This new tire utilises structural technology that places Pirelli amongst the leaders in the ultra high performance segment. This tire design sets new performance standards for winter tires.

Winter Snowsport is designed by Pirelli to allow sporty and high powered saloons to exploit the best of their characteristics providing superior handling performance on wet and dry roads.

While comfort is comparable to the best summer tires, safety is considerably increased by the adoption of new compounds belonging to the most advanced silica generation and materials particularly designed to meet the most severe requirements

Asymmetric tread pattern with variable blocks. Ultra High Performance style longitudinal grooves. Shoulder design derived from racing technology

    • Deep diagonal grooves reduce road noise and assisted by the specially designed blocks, enhance the acoustic comfort and rolling resistance qualities.
    • Undulating sipes connected by longitudal notches guarantee high lateral stability on snow-covered surfaces. Their layout and orientation optimize both grip on snow and wear characteristics.

Better tread pattern than the newer Sottozero II. These have tiny squibs that really bite into the snow. I have yet to see my traction control light come on.

A very good tire on loose and packed snow, nice ride and the handling is very good with the exception that it has been a nightmare getting the tires balanced. After several attempts (changed tire and wheel mix, checked wheels for run-out, etc.) to balance with clip on and strip weights, I've given up. The shimmy is pronounced from 95-105kph and is reduced when tires are inflated to 41psi. At 36psi (recommended) these are unpleasant.

2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe - 225/45/R18 front, 245/45/R18 rear - Awsome Tire. Especially if you want performance in the winter. Traction is fantastic, even with the summer sized tires (dealer recommended 205-215). They are good to about -25C, after which it doesn't really matter that tire you have. Very quiet even after break in. Will be purchasing again!!
