OK, so like almost everyone else here, this tire absolutely rocks on dry pavment. Sticks to the pavement and my car rides like it's on rails on dry pavement. I disagree with others that report that these tires don't perform in the rain. They are very good on wet roads. They don't lose their grip and they don't hydroplane. I have only driven them once in the snow and they were OK. Not great but they weren't the type of tire you would want to dirve long distances on in snowy conditions. I work from home and can limit my driving in snowy conditions.. I have about 8K miles ont them and the tread wear is what I would expect. Nice performence tire.

These are very nice tires, I was a little apprehensive when I was going to purchase these tires based on the mixed reviews. I have to say that I am very pleased with these tires, I purchased these tires for a daily driver (car to be driven on public streets/highways NOT track) Performance is great they grip very well and do make me feel confident when taking agressive curves. Dry traction is great, I have also driven them in the rain and have noticed they are very predictable, they dont hydroplane easily. I have not driven them in snow so I cannot rate them there. Noise level is very impressive, they are quiet and extremely smooth. Treadwear seems to be superior to other brands in this size, keep in mind that if you want longer treadwear the tire will be harder and not perform well. I only paid $60 a tire in size 205/40R17 which is an awsome price for these tires. I dont understand what kind of performance many of the previous reviewers are complaining about. Afterall if you want track performance get track tires, if you want to drive your car like a track car on public highways you should have your license supended. I highly recommend these tires, you are getting great value for the price. And yes I have owned many quality tires, I currently own Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, I have also owned brands such as Bridgestone, Dunlop, Yokohama, these tires out perform Falken, Hankook, Nexen and all those other cheapo tire brands in my opinion.

Horrible tire for anything other than dry pavement! On the dry they are super quiet roll very nice. I did notice that the sidewall feels way too soft like someone stated earlier "sludgy" steering... My snow tires handled way better. Rain, oh god.. terrible, snow lets not go there I have no idea why they would ever call this an all season tire it does worse in the snow then some summer tires i have had. I DO NOT recommend this tire for anyone it is terrible and should be taken off the market! I drive an Audi S4 quattro(AWD) that says a lot being is is awd and i had trouble. GOOD luck if you have anything other than awd with these tires. I wasted over 700 dollars... Treadwear blows but a little better than some other tires i have had in the past.

Good grief, children! Learn to identify the intended use of the tire by the tread pattern. The Extensa is a 3 season tire, at best. Directional tread, fairly large tread blocks, little siping other than main water channels. These features all add up to poor performance in the snow, midling performance rain, and a reasonably happy driver when it's dry. If this tire were actually designed for wet/snow traction, we would read sqawking about how poor the dry handling was and that they only lasted 8-10,000 miles. All my miles are hard miles and I have been pleased with the Extensa for most of them. Considering that this is an ECONOMY tire, it performs admirably when evaluated within the boundaries of it's intended market and usage. If you want a real performance/touring tire spend more, you get what you pay for. I am a big fan of the Michelin Primacy MXM4. I have them on my kid hauler and on my weekend toy, can't beat them. But, for a tire to burn up running to work and back, this tire did just fine. 70000 miles? Yes! I learned a long time ago how to have my vehicle aligned to maximize tire life. (Hint: Imports are generally set up for twitchier handling, which usually cups/feathers the tires (rears especially) creating lots of noise and dramatically shortening tire life.
