I live in a very cold and long winter climate (fairbanks, ak). These tires consistently get me up my unplowed uphill 350 foot long driveway. After a good snow i may have to go up backwards because i'm mostly limited by ground clearance. This is my 4th season on the tires and i still have at least half tread. I routinely leave my tires on after winter but do have a separate set of wheels and summer tires. Just bought a car with nokian haakapalita 2 double studed tires and they don't perform as well as my toyos(possibly just not used to the car yet).

Granted theses are snow tires but they let loose very easily on agressive cornering/turns. In wet conditions these are not good. You better drive like an old lady. The traction control and ABS activate constantly. Very poor on wet roads. On the flip side, these are great in the snow. Never been stuck with rear wheel drive. I would not buy these again. I need a more well rounded snow tire.

Excellent tire for snow and ice, quiet and after 5 winters had tons of tread wear remaining. Would definately buy same snow tire for next car/van.
