    Winter

Designed with an aggressive unidirectional tread pattern for superior performance in extreme snow and ice conditions, the Toyo OBSERVE G-02 plus winter tire technology was specifically built to handle Canada's most brutal winters.

    • Lamella crystals, called Fraipontite, help "vaccuum" away moisture from under the footprint allowing better direct contact between the tread compound and the road surface.
    • Silica in the tread compound helps rubber retain it's softness in low temperature conditions and resists hardening with age.
    • Improved Microbit Technology with the larger walnut shell particle, increases traction and braking on compacted snow and ice.
    • Increased sipe density further improves water evacuation resulting in improved levels of ice traction.

This is the perfect tire for mostly flat winter driving like in the Greater Toronto Area. I've been using these in the past 4 winters and have been extremely happy. After last winter's major snow storm, we were one of the few vehicles to make it in and out of our street which had over a foot of snow. My wife and I have never lost control of our Odyssey using these tires in the winter. Best points: excellent handling in snow, minimal tire wear, good fuel economy. Weak points: Road noise at any speed. I would buy this tire again in my next purchase.

Never had a worst winter tire. Way too loud on dry tarmac, and it slides all day in snow. Good thing I have AWD, as the tires wouldn't perform at their best.

I have been running on Observe tires for many years and on many Toyota sedans. I grew up in the Mt Shasta area and know about winter in the mountains. I have never gotten stuck in the winter with a properly equipped car. The right tires, and a set of fitted chains is standard equipment. 4 out of 5 of my vehicles have Observe tires (Not the Ford pickup).

I liked them alot for 2 winters in Toronto. Good all round tire for mixed conditions. Handled ice patches well enough. Not the best at digging out of the deepest of fresh snows, but good enough 90% of the time ..maybe not so up north? Hard starts and stops in the wet were excellent. Minor hydroplaning skips in heavy rain but only over 125kmh. In the dry they stopped short and straight, handled Altima wheelspin BETTER than many all-seasons. Ran at 36psi didn't feel mushy or wobbly at all. Only issue is toughness - like most Toyos they're fragile - got a sidewall lump form pothole so my GS02+ are done with 7.5mm still left. Would take them again for a reduced price.
