215/55/18- Very good winter tire, excellent traction in deep + packed snow and ice. Obviously, winter tires are not very quiet or comfortable, but coming from a set of studded Arctic Claw's (which were also excellent tires), these are much quieter and more comfortable. Reasonable handling due to being 18's and having a more low profile construction, much better than smaller versions of this tire with a giant dougnut sidewall! Would not pay full price (+$230/tire), but paying $300 for the set makes me very happy!

I bought these about a month ago for city driving in Southern Ontario (Waterloo) where snow and ice covered roads are common. My other car has Goodyear Nordics which are great in the snow, but not useless on ice and extremely noisy. By comparison the Toyo Observe offers a very quiet ride for a winter tire. It has extremely good traction on snow and ice as well as on wet and dry pavement. They have a good firm feel around corners and handle as well as my all seasons did. These are fantastic tires. My next set of winter tires will definitely be Toyo Observes. I have not had the tires long enough to rate their tread wear but was forced to provide a rating, so I gave it a random 4 stars. I really don't know yet.

Great winter tire for our Quebec roads. Pretty slick on dry and wet roads when new.

These are, hands down, the very best tire that I have ever had. Before I put the observe G2's on, I had a pair of mix- matched highway tires on my front-wheel drive Honda Accord. Once installed, I noticed, while driving down a very wet Portland, OR highway, I really didn't need to control the car. It was almost like the tires steered the car themselves (one of the most rewarding feelings I've had from a car. Finally, the car gave back, instead of constantly requiring human assistance to do its job). Buy these tires and use them year round in a responsible manner- then in two years you'll be typing like I am- like you're talking about an ex-lover. You wont be fooled. You won't look back in regret. You will pat yourself on the back like you are something more than special. Maybe you are, but these tires are amazing in snow. They are twice the tire you need in rain. They are directionally stable in slush. Most importantly-when one finds themself going too fast around a wind-polished turn - the tire is mysteriously grounded and there is little to no tangential movement. They have walnut shells within the rubber - What?! You've got to be pulling my pinky!
Buy them. F#@& the studs! Just drive sensibly and don't complain about the noise; it's nothing compared to the noise of studs.
