My first set of mt were made in japan and I got 85k out of them problem free and perfect, My second set has left me with four tires with about 3/10 tread left and less than 35k mileage, cracking sidewalls and a blowout, pretty sad. The second set was made in USA. I guess I will be looking for a new manufacture of tires.

I have the toyo open country mts on my lifted 2012 f150. These tires are great off road. The truck seemed to float through the mud and the tires clenched to the ground when rock crawling. However most of us won't be off roading everyday. These tires maintain grip in dry conditions in wet conditions i have seen a slight decrease in traction but its nothing to be scared about. for what these tires are the road noise is minimal, but the comfort is not so great. The tires really have to warm up before you get better ride comfort. as far as handling goes these tires handle great on and off road. These tires are definitely one of the best all-terrain tires you can buy and i would recommended them to anyone looking at having great off road tires, but not giving up good everyday driving tires.

Best tire I've ever had! Performed well off road in my jeep. Did lots of highway traveling to see my folk in Northern Ontario, in snow storms, and I also helped numerous people out of snow banks during my winter rides north. never rotated like I should of, front did wear out before the rear as expected since i have a aftermarket Smittybilt front bumper and Warn Winch.

Wear quickly and seem to cause the heavier of pickups to always feel unsettled on the highway. They're fine around the city and in deep snow and ice, but are terrible on icy surfaces and at high speed. I drive a 3/4 GMC on the back roads of northern Alberta and BC, often carrying 1000lbs or more of cargo in the box. Since its either very muddy or very icy during the year I alternate between these in a 295/70R17 and 285/70R15 Toyo 10 ply snow tire. While the snow tires are useless in mud, and these excel, the MT tire immediately makes the handling feel very loose and unresponsive, as if the truck won't settle at speed. Highway driving with weight can be a little unnerving at times when a quick lane change or maneuver is required. That said, they get my truck to work through the fall and spring mud, so I'll continue to buy them, despite the poor handling and quick wear. Road noise is good for a tire of this size and aggressiveness as is deep snow performance.
