I own a 1979 Datsun 280ZXR (1 of 1000 factory built). I've invested over 20K into it. One could say that it is very fast and handles very well. However, it is my show vehicle (I've owned it for 13 yrs). So i only drive it around 3-4 month's out of the year (I live in Oregon). I've ran several styles of tires over the years on this vehicle. My first set were Mastercraft Avenger GT's. Second, were Toyo Proxy FZ4's and for the last 9 years, Yokohama ES100 225/50/15's on Deep Dish Prime Hammers. I swear by these tires! I havent ever had a problem with them and I drive aggressively most often (I drive my Z, like I stole it). These are ultra high performance "summer" tires folks. They are a soft compound tire, made for heat. NOT rain or snow. I have been very impressed by their handling. They corner excellent! On a hot day, they work even better. They heat up, soften up and stick to the road. I often rev the engine and drop the clutch to take off. They will burn off, a feeling like heated up gum, then grab and grip the road. Hard cornering is no problem for the ES100's. I would suggest and have suggested these tires to all of my buddies who own high performance vehicles. I have been highly disappointed in Yokohama for discontinuing to carry the ES100's and not making at least a comparable tire in a 15" wheel. Some of us choose to continue to run the old school wheels for better performance.

1992 Civic Si - Integra Motor - 205/55-16 - While I found these tires a significant improvement over the Michelin's I was very disappointed in their wet weather traction. Living in Vancouver gave me lots of opportunity to try them out over two years. Their dry grip was reasonable, but in the wet they were poor. Since switched to Falken-451s. Incredible tire, can still run 8/10ths in the rain!

2003 Miata - 195/50R15 - Excellent summer tires rain or shine. Used in autoX for 4 events and were still good for 3 summers. Wet cornering was astounding, but watch for any sand or leaves, which will make even starting slowly from a standstill a tire-spinning experience. They seem to freeze and lose a lot of grip under 15 degrees C, which compounds the leave/sand problem during spring and autumn driving. During those times, grip is lower than Toyo 800 Ultra touring tires! Never tried snow, car is garaged from oct to the end of may.

1987 Porsche 928 S4 - wide :) - Had them put on my 928 when I bought it and I really liked them. Stuck like glue once you drove for about 5 minutes to warm them up. They lasted about 50k kms or 30k miles. The rear ones were not inflated perfectly and wore in the middle while the alignment on the front was out and wore...could probably put another 5k miles on them. Want to get new ones, but I think they are discontinued...too bad. So many folks on this site give high ratings for tires on little cars with no weight to sling around but these work on a big beast with 325 hp just fine...I'll miss them.
