  • 2004 Nissan Maxima SE - 225/55R17 - I have run a set of these tires for 4 winters now in Calgary and am very pleased. Excellent in snow and slush, quiet, and amazingly good performance on a dry road. They are a performance winter tire, and as such there are compromises. In this case you trade off some ice traction for superb dry handling and ride quality (there is no rating for ice but I would rate the AVS "good" on ice). Compared to the Blizzak WS50s which I had on my 2001 Maxima I'd say the Blizzaks were a bit better on ice, the Yokohamas were maybe a bit better in snow, definitely better in slush, and a lot better in perfromance on dry, wet or snowy winter roads (except on ice). The big difference is that once spring hit, I couldn't wait to get the Blizzaks off the car whereas I tend to forget I have the Yokohamas on.

  • 2001 Prelude SE - 195/50/16 - My car is stock ride height. These tires are amazing. Excellent snow, slush and ice traction. Vancouver received a massive dump of snow and I have driven around in it from the lowest elevation up to Cypress Mountain. I was able to creep up a very steep street in New Westminster only because the street wasn't plowed. No need for 4x4 or AWD as long as you have good snowies. I recommend this tire for lower mainland drivers. Great price for an excellent performing tire.

  • 2005 Acura TSX - 215/55/16 - These tires are exceptional except for heavy snow (over 2 feet) or extremely icey conditions. They compromise traction for exceptional H rated handling... I would prefer to get tires that handle better in the snow than perform better on dry pavement.
