Building on the exceptional success of the Ice Guard IG10, the all-new Ice Guard IG20 represents a great leap forward in winter traction technology. Designed to cut through the watery film on ice that causes micro-hydroplaning, the IG20 features Yokohama's over a billion absorptive carbon flakes and more than 5 billion resin-coated shelled microbubbles. The tread design has been refined to offer better grip during acceleration, cornering and braking in the worst winter weather, including in slush and snow and on ice. The IG20 has also been optimized to provide long-lasting wear and low road noise.

  • 1991 BMW 525i - 205/65-15 - Great tire for the money, wear well, quiet, and most importantly I have not gotten stuck. I take them off once the weather warms up, so these are definitely snow/cold weather only.

  • 2008 Toyota Corolla CE - 185/65R15 - I got these tires to replaced the lackluster, so called "All-Weather" Nokian WR G2s. The tires have proven themselves through deep snow, slushy snow, powder snow, packed snow, and they're still brand new! There's enough grip to start off from a dead stop uphill in snow and braking is certainly comparable to all the winter tires out there. The tires can abruptly go over its limits if you're going into a turn. There are a few better choices for spirited snow driving while these tires feel safe driving at posted speed limits. Dry handling is definitely a bit spongy but still better than the tires that came stock with my car, same goes for wet handling. The low speed rating prove that these tires are made to get you there safely, if not quickly. Not a problem if you plan to save your spirited driving for the other three seasons. The tires are fairly quiet and provide excellent ride comfort.
