Advanced Winter Technology Delivers Advanced Winter Traction

Building on the exceptional success of the Ice Guard IG10, the all-new Ice Guard IG20 represents a great leap forward in winter traction technology. Designed to cut through the watery film on ice that causes micro-hydroplaning, the IG20 features Yokohama's over a billion absorptive carbon flakes and more than 5 billion resin-coated shelled microbubbles. The tread design has been refined to offer better grip during acceleration, cornering and braking in the worst winter weather, including in slush and snow and on ice. The IG20 has also been optimized to provide long-lasting wear and low road noise.

I had the IG20 installed on a 2012 Subaru Forester. Then I tested them because I needed to know if I was going to sell them next year. So the test was severe. They never failed any of my assessments. I turned corners at high speed, I braked hard as I approached my driveway at a frightening speed,I accelerated above normal from dead stops on ice. These tires are superlative and I feel secure in my plans to go off-roading all winter.

Got those tires on a Hyundai Sonata 2007 and it feels like an SUV. Simply the best winter tires I ever had.

Excellent winter tires. Bought these for my 2004 Mazda 3 GT 5 dr. based on experience with Yoko's old Guardex tires. Got worried when I read some reviews about unpredictable behavior of these tires in snow and on dry pavement, particularly with this vehicle, according to some sites. Happy to report that after several ski outings driving from Montreal QC to Jay Peak Vermont, these tires performed flawlessly on the freeway and mountain back roads as well. Even after the 45cm record snowfall of Dec 2012. Even on the notoriously snowy and windy Autoroute 10 at 115km/h (70mph) with a cargo box on the roof, the car handled securely. These replaced a bargain brand tire that though had great tread depth, were terrifyingly slippery. The IceGuards have been great on snow and ice. The past 2 weeks have seen record urban and country snow conditions in my areaand I have zero complaints.

This is my second pair of IG20s. I sold my previous car that had them and bought these ones for my new car because I was very confident in their performance. I was able to crush winters with them (driving in the lanes that weren't plowed), and I look forward to doing that again this year. No noise, great traction and a very smooth and comfortable ride and most important great value for money. If you're going to get a winter tire, this is the way to go.
