I bought these tires because the Michelin’s I have used in the past were unavailable. The Bridgestone R238’s are rated heavy duty and long tread life. I drive a Ford F-250 with a service body that is full of plumbing tools and weighs 4 tons. I am 72 and definitely not a hot rodder. Most of my work is in or around San Francisco. Tire tread wears out quite quickly, always less that 30K miles. Long tread life was a crucial selling point. Bridgestone calls these tires “All Season”. I seriously doubt that claim, unless it never rains in the All Seasons of your use. A bit of rain on the road and they skid across any painted road markings. If I happen to be braking on a downhill toward a stop sign and painted STOP on the road bed I can skid right across the paint. I encountered a stop at the end of a long left turn with a painted crosswalk and STOP on the road bed and skidded half way into the next lane. These are the worst case scenarios I have experienced. On dry pavement, with brakes applied, approaching a cross walk ,STOP, or any other road markings painted on the road way, the tires lock momentarily and chirp when they leave the painted area. This is loud enough for pedestrians to turn and wonder what is going on. It never fails to happen and drives me crazy. I presume it is due to the lack of siping on the inside and outside treads of the tire. I will never drive these tires on my truck into the snow. Would I buy another set. Absolutely Not.
