The Discoverer S-T MAXX™ features Cooper´s proven and reliable 3-ply Armor-Tek3® carcass construction combined with a new, proprietary cut and chip resistant tread compound. With that combination along with its modern hybrid 4-5 rib tread design and unique tread features, the S-T MAXX is destined to be a commercial grade traction tire that will perform in the toughest terrains while retaining remarkable on-road traction, stability and low noise characteristics.

  • Cooper´s proven, class-leading 3-ply Armor-Tek3® construction contributes to the durability of the S-T MAXX by adding strength to the sidewall and tread area. A unique angled ply construction absorbs and helps dissipate tire impact forces that can damage a tire in harsh off-road conditions.
  • The tread compound is formulated with a unique blend of natural rubber and silica that provides exceptional wet traction and confident handling on the highway, while also delivering excellent cut and chip resistance on unpaved, rocky and gravel terrain.
  • Strategically placed ribs within the lateral grooves of the tread design help to discharge stones and resist stone drilling.
  • The optimized design of the buttress area provides additional off-road traction, abrasion and puncture resistance. Its rugged design minimizes the potential for damage due to scrapes and abrasion when used in difficult terrain.

Have had these tires two years , the wear seams premature. the noise not bad, ride is good . Traction in the mud and snow not so great. The truck has locking rear ends, but still tractions problems in the mud and snow, its better in deeper mud and snow but 1/2" to 1 1/2" of mud or snow is problem tires load up and won't clean out so the sliding around begins. will choose different tire next go around.

Excellent, soft, grippy tread compound for wet/snowy weather, and does surprising well on ice. Deep tread depth (measured all 4 at 19.75/32") promises long tread life. 1010tires.com in Toronto was stellar in their followup/shipping speed/delivery; first time customer, will definitely be back for all my vehicles' tires.

I put 80K on these tires and could probably go 15 more. These were very good in mud and rock. Dry pavement traction is like having slicks they stick to the road. These tires were a bit squirmy towing the rv, not dangerous just a bit of float. No issues empty. Overall very happy, it was a solid tire.

This is a follow up review... Now that the tires have been on the Jeep for 2 years years and almost 30K miles I wanted to update; First off we have these tires cross rotated every 6 months. This is a rotation that includes the spare, so a (5) tire rotation. This vehicle is a daily driver as well as weekend warrior, Since the tires were installed (35x12.5R17) It has seen 28,998 of HWY and city miles and still continues to impress- ride, noise and control are all positive and confident. It has tackled the Texas soft, loose sand beaches numerous times, It has seen jagged rock outcroppings in which we damn near flipped the vehicle because we got offline, It has crawled through 20" of mucky mud that was bogging others. It has scaled sandstone boulders and granite mounds. Handles loose, dusty and hardpacked trails, gravel roads and river crossings with ease and confident control. I still am impressed and pleased with this tire as THE right choice in a Hybrid TA/MT design. So much so they are going to be fitted to my new Chevy Truck once lifted. They may have a few chucks of rubber chewed off some of the blocks on the now scratched wheelset but they perform better than expected. Go anywhere, air down for off-road or at aired up volume for the ride back home these will take you there- These are awesome tires! (NO snow experience undertaken so I couldn't rate this category).
