The RS3-A™ is the latest Ultra High Performance all-season tire within the Cooper performance family. This all-season performance tire provides the driver with a dynamic handling and inspires confidence and control.
Advanced Technology Mold Profile. Provides for a square tread footprint which means more tread-to-road contact. Asymmetric Design. Allows for tread pattern tuning. This design allows for cross-rotation which reduces heal-toe wear, promotes even wear, less noise and increased overall read life. More rubber on the outboard tread pattern equals exceptional dry handling and traction. The large outside shoulder and intermediate tread elements increase handling, stability control and ultimate cornering ability. The offset shoulder-to-intermediate grooves and large intermediate tread elements are joined together for stable cornering and noise reduction. Laterally oriented shoulder grooves, uniform element geometry and chamfered edges resist irregular or rapid tread wear. The continuous, solid rib on the outside of the center row of tread elements increases steering response. The inboard tread pattern is optimized for wet and light snow conditions. Two, wide circumferential grooves channel water away from the tire for hydroplane resistance. Even wear is achieved by the laterally oriented shoulder grooves and uniform elements. Winter traction performance is aided by the technical sweeping elliptical groove. 3-D Micro-Gauge Siping. Increases tread element stability, improves handling and tire control while reducing the possibility of stone retention. 3-D dimple sipes with interlocking geometry provide more sipe depth without sacrificing tread element stability. The 3-D dimple sipes are used in the center, intermediate and shoulder elements and provide increased length and more road biting edges as the pattern wears for maximum wet and light snow traction. These came stock on my Focus, and I don't think I've ever had something handle so poorly in the snow. Here's the thing - I live in Alberta, Canada. Snow is very much a fact of life. We've barely had any yet this year, and it's already bad. Bad to the point that I thought these might just be summer tires and not all-seasons. Wet handling is also poor. Stopping distance seems much worse than other tires I've had, and hydroplaning is common. Dry is fine. If you live somewhere that gets snow, ice, or a fair amount of rain, I would avoid. If you live somewhere that is temperate and overall dry, go for it.

I live in SE Michigan. These tires came stock on my 2014 Ford focus SE in March of 2014. No matter if it's dry or wet out these tires are always spinning when starting from a stop, even when gas is moderately applied. In the winter they won't even crawl up my plowed driveway into garage. As soon as gas pedal is touched they just spin, I need a running start to get in most of the time. My wife's 2009 Ford Escape Fwd with different tires will crawl at a moderate pace without spinning. I worry everytime I go out in the snow with these, and will not be buying them when it is time to replace the current ones.

Replaced the stock 16" wheels with 17" pony wheels. I researched hi-performance all season tires and settled on these. I was thoroughly impressed with their performance. They handle the rain well, the car felt much more stable in wet weather than before. Snow performance was very good. I've driven mustangs year round for many years so driving in winter is important. I also commute 70 miles a day so I spend quality time in my car. These needed replaced after about 45,000 miles and I fell into a deal for factory 18" wheels with brand new Yokohama Avid ENVigor 235/50R18s. I'm not happy with the Yokohamas, They spin too easily in wet weather and I have little confidence in their stability when driving in wet weather. The Zeon RS3-A tires are a much better tire. When the Yokohamas wear out I'll be putting another set of Coopers on the car.

Live in northwest Iowa. Have conditions here from 100+ in summer to -15 in winter. Light snow, heavy snow, light rain and heavy rain, as well. Handle well in dry. Will hydroplane in modest rain. Light snow ok, but you have to be cautious. These tires are not made for much over 1-2 inches of snow. Will not replace these when they wear out and would not recommend for snow. Have about 24, 000 miles on them and wear seems reasonable. Would expect to get 40k+ out of these, based on wear so far. My only concern is they will have 28-30k on them going in to winter, so will probably look at replacing with a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS or a comparable Michelan.
