Just had 8" of fresh snow fall on top of 1" of compacted, frozen snow where I live and my 98 Civic coupe was unstoppable. The tires got me going easily in 8" of untouched & unplowed snow even up hills from a stop. Once all the snow froze over as temperatures dropped they performed well and easily gain traction. I have not felt stuck or worried once in the last month of this type of weather. They even stop well on ice in -10c weather. Given that they cost me upwards of 650$ with rims I wanted to test them well to justify the money spent when I had all-seasons with 75% tread..glad I didn't risk it with those in this weather. Highly recommend these tires.

I just put a set of 4 of these tires on my car. Overall they are not much better than a good all-season radial. I spin on wet pavement. The tires slide on slush and wet snow covered highways. I can feel the car swaying when driving on rain covered pavement. I needed to take a second "run" at getting into my daughters driveway that had a layer of packed wet snow and a temp of just above freezing. I drive a lot with a 10 month old infant and do not feel confident on wet or snowy or slushy roads in this vehicle now. Our second car (Toyota Yaris) has winter Cooper Tires and there is no comparison - the Coopers are stable, have great grip and great traction in snow, and I feel safe when driving in the winter with the Cooper tires. I am so disappointed in the reviews I've seen online - all the 5* that others have given to these tires have not been my experience. I've had them for less than a month - lets hope they wear out quickly. I will never buy from this manufacturer again.

Good snow tires are everything. These tires got us through a major blizzard in our little 2WD car. There were tons of trucks, SUVs, and other 4WD and AWD vehicles stuck, spun-out, and wrecked on the side of the road and we were safe and cruising right on through. Highly recommend.

Great winter tire! Overall a good performer, great value for price. I recommend. When it is warm(0 -10 C) the sidewalls get very soft. Conversely the Wintermaxx has unbelievable levels of grip when it is very cold(-20C and lower). Does better on hard pack and ice than it does in deep snow and slush, but by no means does this mean it does not preform in the latter conditions. Also, phenomenal cold rain tire(Soft sidewalls notwithstanding), does not hydroplane and stops very quickly.

Snow update. This tire exceeded my expectations in fresh snow as well as slush. Very good handling and stopping. Would buy again.
