The Defender T+H tire is Michelin Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, family sedans, minivans and small crossover vehicles looking for a long-lasting, comfortable tire that delivers all-season traction in the dry, wet and light snow.

  • Defender T+H tires utilize a new, all-season tread compound focused on improving durability and longevity compared to the previous-generation Defender.
  • The asymmetric pattern is designed for smooth and quiet operation and utilizes Michelin IntelliSipe technology of zigzag sipes that interlock below the surface, increasing tread block rigidity while also optimizing the tire contact with the road.
  • The new generation compound features a high silica content to aid wet traction, and lateral notches and circumferential grooves effectively channel water away from the footprint to reduce the risk of hydroplaning.
  • The independent tread blocks and zigzag sipes together create the necessary biting edges for traction on slippery surfaces encountered during winter months, including light snow.

Recently purchased a set Defender T+H to replaced my all season as I also run winter tires in the winter months. I've been buying Michelin tires for over the past 20 years and had good service out of this brand with both mileage and quality build. Shortly after switching from the winter over to the all season we had a snowfall of 12 cm to my surprise these tires performed quite well in the snow for being rated an all season tire. These tires are superior class for dry and wet conditions with great comfort and low noise . The handling is unbelievable better than it's ever been even greater than when the van was brand new. Treadwear if proper maintenance is done with rotation, alignment, with manually tire pressure checks weekly there's no reason to doubt the wear quality of this tire brand that I had over 20 years.

The Defender is a relatively quiet and comfortable tire but an inconsistent performer, especially on wet roads. The tires often “stutter” when cornering at otherwise safe speeds on wet roads. I have found that their behaviour on rutted roads, during normal lane changes and when cornering is hard to predict; sometimes precise and sometimes soft, regardless of the temperature. The OEM tires were far better suited to the handling and suspension tuning of the Mazda 3 so I would recommend a performance tire if you wish to preserve the fun to drive nature of your car.

These are not the tires for a Toyota Sienna!! Vehicle rode hard and bouncey no matter the tire pressure or conditions. Hard to handle bordering on unsafe. Swapped them for Michelin Premier and was much, much better. These X-Tours or Defender T & H (equivalents) should not never have been specified by Michelin for a Toyota Sienna. Come on Michelin - do your homework!!

These tires were garbage that lasted about 20% as long as they should have, and enjoy the hoops of dealing with Michelin to get them to honor their warranty. They were tolerable on dry roads but hydroplaned when it was really wet and they didn't last for very long at all - they were worse than the cheap generics that came with the car in all respects.
