Michelin´s best standard passenger car - minivan tire ever offering confident driving through exceptional safety, longevity and a quiet, comfortable ride so that you can protect those you care about most.

  • Exceptional grip provided by IntelliSipe™ Technology maximizes the number of sipes within the tire, which allows you to brake confidently when you need to most for greater peace of mind in stressful driving situations.
  • MaxTouch Construction combined with the interlocking action of Michelin´s Breakthrough IntelliSipe™ Technology delivers impressively long wear life by providing exceptional tread block rigidity while optimizing the tire´s contact with the road during acceleration, braking and cornering.
  • The interlocking action of IntelliSipes™ creates a more rigid tread block, which allows for a reduced starting tread depth leading to lower rolling resistance so you can save fuel without sacrificing safety or longevity.

Overall very good tires but their original tread depth was 8/32 while many competitive brands offer up to 11/32. After 40,000 mi, I'm down to 3/32 on one and just over that on the other three. After many years of being a Michelin fan, I'm switching brands. The tires were overpriced and provided only half their mileage warranty. I'm not interested in driving on the 2/32 tread required to cash in the warranty.

Just bought a set of these Defenders and thought finally I have Michelins but found them noisy and have taken them back to my mechanic who said "tire noise " agreeing with me , but tire place said there is some sort of slight (?) noise from front bearing which they cannot define so I guess I shall see if the noise does away (hopefully) not enough time to determine treadwear.

Drove away from tire store with a new set of Toyo Extensas and right away knew I had made a mistake. Took a spin at freeway speed to confirm...loud, noisy tires! Sounded like I was driving a Jeep. Went back to tire store and swapped them out for a set of Michelin Defenders...wow...am I glad I did. The Michelins are super quiet...and a much better tire! Will update later after more miles and driving conditions.

I absolutely love these tires and it is EXTREMELY unlikely that I will ever own another set of Michelin tires. They ride good, they handle great in wet and dry conditions. They are very capable in snow. They have 3-4/32 of tread left at 1/2 the stated tread warranty. The dealer said that Michelin will not warrantee the tires as the rotations have not been documented appropriately. I have owned at least 5 sets of Michelin tires over the last 20 years, rotated them diligently, and not 1 set achieved more than 75% of their stated mileage warrantee before wearing out. Admittedly I have not rotated this set as frequently as recommended but the treadwear is within 1/32 across all 4 tires. I am not convinced that infrequent rotation is the issue. I will run these down to the wearbars and find another brand. Thanks for the memories Michelin.
