Michelin´s best standard passenger car - minivan tire ever offering confident driving through exceptional safety, longevity and a quiet, comfortable ride so that you can protect those you care about most.

  • Exceptional grip provided by IntelliSipe™ Technology maximizes the number of sipes within the tire, which allows you to brake confidently when you need to most for greater peace of mind in stressful driving situations.
  • MaxTouch Construction combined with the interlocking action of Michelin´s Breakthrough IntelliSipe™ Technology delivers impressively long wear life by providing exceptional tread block rigidity while optimizing the tire´s contact with the road during acceleration, braking and cornering.
  • The interlocking action of IntelliSipes™ creates a more rigid tread block, which allows for a reduced starting tread depth leading to lower rolling resistance so you can save fuel without sacrificing safety or longevity.

I replaced my factory installed tires with the new Defender tire. They are everything I hoped they would be. I did not rate snow and wear because I have not had the tires long enough to rate snow and wear. The Defender tires are far superior to the tires that came with the SUV. I highly recommend this tire.

Disappointing tire. The tread wear, one of the selling points of the tire, is not what is claimed. The tires are good for maybe 60K miles, at best. Very noisy too, when compared to, for instance, General Altimax. Handling is rather questionable. For some odd reason the vehicle felt a bit jittery, with a lot of side sway when turning the wheel, as in changing lanes in interstate driving, turning corners in city driving. These tires are simply not worth the money that a branded name as Michelin fetches.

The tech at Discount Tire tells me they never get more than 50,000 out of these. Mine are gone and I can only use the pro rated pricing to buy more of the same tire. I guess if they are taking 40% off every time, I'm happy. Good tire except for the premature wear.

These tires replaced the OEM Bridgestone Duelers which were the worst wet/snow tires I ever had in 45 years of driving, particularly after the first couple of years of wear. The Defenders were great in every category except for snow, where few if any all season tires fair well. I would buy them again. Great tire.
