A wide tread contact patch generates acceleration and braking power, as well as cornering traction, for outstanding winter manoeuvering. The special FleX-IceTM compound is formulated to maintain its flexibility under the most extreme cold weather conditions, including snow, slush, ice, wet and dry. MICHELIN® Latitude® X-Ice® Xi2TM tires are designed to help Crossovers and Sport Utility Vehicles hold the road in a variety of wintery conditions.

  • Cross Z-SipesTM Technology uses a special 3-D design that locks the sipes in place. Combined with micro-pumps, they provide improved stability in all winter conditions. And because the sipes and micro-pumps are full-depth, their grip lasts winter after winter.
  • MICHELIN® Comfort Control Technology™ helps deliver one of the most comfortable rides in the industry by using computer-optimized design and precision manufacturing to offer greatly reduced vibrations and road noise plus the longevity you expect from Michelin.

just went outside to test them since we first had them installed in November on wife's mini van. First snow fall here in Vancouver so I had to go out and see what these were like compared to Blizzaks I had on my Tacoma. These Michelin tires are ok not the greatest but ok. Stopped on a side street with an incline a few times and almost got stuck in the fresh snow. Had to move front wheels from side to side until the tires finally got some traction. Turning on to a main road from the side street you really have to take it easy. Drifted somewhat into the thicker snow and let off the gas to gain some traction. Compared to the blizzaks I had on my tacoma I would say that the Blizzaks are the better choice. If you choose these Michelin tires take it easy on the road and you should be fine.

These are great tires for cold clean roads, but not for roads with > 1 cm of snow and temperatures less than -7.

These tire work great on ice and similar slippery surfaces but aren't necessarily the greatest when it comes to deep snow. In spite of that, for climates like Calgary with frequent thaw cycles, I've still found them to be the best overall choice. This is my 5th set between 3 Honda SUVs.

I usually buy performance winter tires but this time decided to give a try to a more dedicated winter set and see the improvement on ice. I only have for 1 season so far and waited to submit this review. The tires are quite comfortable and soft (I use non run flats). For winter this tires perform quite well and can recommended without a doubt. Of course these are winter set so once the weather gets warm (+8C) you can feel the movement on the sidewall and tread.

Ran these for four Newfoundland winters, putting roughly 70,000 km on them. The sidewalls are cracked at this point, and my dealer suggested replacing them. This is a bit surprising, since they are an expensive tire! Treadwear was just average, although they wore evenly. I did not find these to be all that great in wet weather (rain/slush) - they tended to hydroplane more easily than the Michelin LTX that were my summer tires. This was true even when new, with full tread depth. In snow they were fine, no complaints. Where these really shine is on dry cold pavement, where they are a very quiet and comfortable highway ride. I'm going to try another brand this time, I need better wet weather performance.
