Not sure on tread life yet. I live in Canada and we get big snow dumps each year. It was a toss up between hakkapeliitta r2 and the Michelin ice xi3, but with very little distribution of the Hakk's locally I took the xi3's. We have a long steep driveway that only my lifted YJ with deep lugs can make it up. I had a friend with his Tj on 37" Bridgestone A/T couldn't make. The Subaru now drive up like nothing and the wife can now get out and loves them and she's a bit of a nervous driver. I was laughing at how easy it gets around in the snow now. No wonder the Subaru is so popular in Alaska, but only with good tires. I'm now buying them for my BMW X5.

My first time with these tires and they are performing better than I thought. Deep snow, no problem, plow right through. Stoppingbis good too. I would buy these again. Good behaviour on the 407, predictable and true crosing lanes at high speed with snow covered lanes..confident and no problem.

I've been on these tires for the past 3 months. I'm so disappointed. These are not for Quebec winters. Maybe for winters like in Boston, New York, Toronto etc. More than 2-3cm of snow and you're not moving. Don't let the positive reviews get you. Better on ice but in snow there is no traction what so ever.
