For some reason I could only post half my review, so here is the second half. Hopefully the web admin will merge the text of this review to my previous one (just a couple SQL commands if you can't edit text directly). I'd hate to have wasted my time writing a review to see it go nowhere.
Living in Vancouver I got the chance to try the tires in the snow only for 3 days. And I don't know if it's the drivers here, but I was passing all the trucks and SUVs on the road. I only saw 4x4 trucks or all wheel drive cars like Audi on the snow days. And here I am in a RWD car and I felt pretty safe with these tires. They don't have the best grip ever in the snow, but for their profile they were surprisingly great. I never got stuck in the snow and actually did a test in an empty parking lot to see how much snow my car could handle. The 1 to 2 feet of snow were no problem, but 2 feet or more it was challenging to get out. With about 3 feet of snow I would be stuck for sure. This is completely fresh snow and a mound of it that collected on the parking lot. Being in a car with about 8 inches of clearance doesn't help either, so I was probably hitting some physical limits rather than the limits of the tire. It's difficult to say for sure since there are so many variables, sometimes the best tires seem to lose grip, or the worst tires get the best grip (e.g. good tires got too hot, bad tires were overworn).
The most important thing I remember about snow is this. I saw some trucks pull out in front of me and slip and slide all over the place as they tried to go forward after turning. I did the same thing in the same place and didn't slip and slide. I turned much faster, accelerated much faster and passed every car on the road, especially on the highway without sliding. Well I did slide a bit once to see how fast I could drive, and it was something like 105 km/h when the other cars were going no more than 60.

Can't go wrong with Pirelli! In Europe we use these tires all the time and you can see why. Amazing traction in cold weather, especially in the rain. I am using my summer tires now, but it's raining so much in Vancouver I wish I had these tires on as they just seem to STICK much better in the rain. Remember, this is a W rated tire, 270km/h. If you don't need to drive this fast in the winter, get the 210 series which are a bit softer and might have better snow and off road traction than these. But if you do plan on driving over 200km/h, these are amazing.
After about 5000km I noticed a bit more than half a 1/32" less tread. The tire came with 9-10/32". Can't complain about the tread as I drive quite aggressively, but not as many burnouts as I do in the summer as those are the real tread-eaters.
I can't say anything bad about the tire. It's a bit expensive compared to other options. Not as comfy as other tires, but that may be just because it's a winter tire. They seem much quieter than some other tires, maybe because they have less roll resistance, and thus more efficient. I track my efficiency and I did notice it's better in the winter. But maybe the engine runs better in cold weather, too.
Dry performance is great also for a winter tire. Just a great all around tire. If you're looking for a tire specifically for deep snow, this might not be the best choice, although it will do the job. If you're looking for slush, rain, and cold weather performance, this is it. It is perfect for a sports car in the winter, keeping you safe, and thus good for any car wanting that extra safety and performance.
Just got these tires put on and now I can see why Pirelli is the choice for many sports cars in Germany for the Winter.
I had Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 summer performance tires before I got these. And they were fantastic when it was dry and not too cold. Now that it's colder, I find these Pirellis very sticky because they're much software (as a winter tire should be), and with the road even a little wet, they perform better than the Michelins. I did go with slightly wider tires, so maybe that's helping with traction, but so far I'm impressed. The Michelins would need some time to warm up to get sticky, while these I feel safe right from the start.
I like to whip out my rear tail a bit while turning sometimes, and with these tires it's harder todo because they have more grip. I thought that going to winter tires I would lose performance, but I couldn't be happier.
We don't get snow very often here, maybe ice once in a while. So far I haven't had to deal with either so I can't speak of the performance of the tires in that kind of weather, but I drove through deep and shallow puddles and have not experienced any hydroplaning so far.
If you're looking for performance Winter tires that don't disappoint, these are the ones to get. Very difficult to find in stock this year, but they are worth it. If you need something where there is constant snow/ice, maybe these wouldn't be the ones for you because it seems like they are tailored for performance, although the groove pattern would make you believe otherwise. I'll have to see how good they are in the snow, and if they are good in snow, too, I'll be really impressed. Usually it's a trade off between performance and snow traction.

Aggressive Driver (Hard Cornering)
This is not a snow tire, if you live in areas with constant snow, better avoid them and get something with a more aggressive profile.
In dry and slush, they are the best cold weather tires I had.
If you have a sport car and want to drive it hard on cold wather, these tires are perfect for you. If you want a safe commute for your run of the mill car, stay away.

I rated these tires last year and I am now on the second winter. I was not happy having to remount these knowing how disappointing they were. Now that we are through winter, I notice that they are wearing heavily too. These tires are so bad, I had to find my old review and give an update. After 2 Quebec winters, here is the summary:
Mounted on a 2011 A4 Quattro
Very prone to spin due to the close tread pattern and rounded edges
Understeers in any depth of snow (I already hit a curb and caused $4K damage)
Did not notice great Ice grip
Wear like butter (2x5k and reaching the wear bars)
Asymetric tread means one side of the tire is pumping water outwards and the other is pumping water inwards
My FWD passat with Goodyear Nordic tires grip, steer, stop, and track better than these at 1/5 the price.
I cannot believe these are being made let alone recommended.
