The AVID TOURING-S is Yokohama´s Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and minivans. It was designed to combine ride quality, smooth handling, durability and traction in any season, including in light snow.

  • The AVID TOURING-S uses Yokohama´s Tri-plex Tread Compound to provide long tread life and all-season traction.
  • This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design that features Silent Shoulder variable tread block sizes and a central Twin Rail Stability Rib to reduce tread pattern noise while offering confident maneuverability.
  • The intermediate tread blocks feature Tapered Rain Channels working in tandem with circumferential grooves to help evacuate water and enhance wet traction while Cross Traction sipes provide biting edges to increase traction in wintry conditions.
  • The tire´s internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon belt edge strips on top of polyester body plies that are stabilized by tall, tapered rubber sidewall inserts for better absorption of bumps and road vibrations.

Yokohama has lost my business FOREVER! They don't stand up to their warranty, even a discounted percentage towards another set and my tires are quite bald from normal summer driving on city streets and highways. Integra Tire, who sold them to me, said that my tires are getting too brittle and wear easily and therefore are bald. I call BS!, they are bald because of a lousy manufactured product from a company that only takes your money and then does not honour their warranty claims. Spend your money on a better product!

I purchased these tires in January 2012, love the tires for the handling in wet and dry conditions. Snow driving I rated it a 3, since I know this brand of tire from my wife's van in snow conditions. The handling and conditions was rated low, based on the tire vibration in the last year when driving from 50 mph and higher. I currently have about 20,700 miles on the tires. I have notice cracking conditions forming on the lower tread near the rim, about 1 inch up. My wife's van had the same brand; but, 215/70R15 size and the tires had massive cracking, enough to be replaced under warranty.
