Benefits of BFGoodrich

  • 20% tougher sidewalls featuring race-proven CoreGard™ technology to take on the toughest road hazards with confidence.1 CoreGard™ technology - Tougher sidewall rubber: Split and bruise resistant sidewall rubber, derived from BFGoodrich®'s race-proven Baja T/A® KR2 tire. Thicker, extended shoulder rubber: Increased rubber thickness, extending down the sidewall to protect more of the critical sidewall failure zone. Advanced deflection design: Computer-predicted object path design deflects protruding objects from snagging and splitting the sidewall.
  • 2X the treadlife on gravel and 15% longer treadlife on asphalt to extend your adventure.2 Specially formulated tread rubber: Optimally blended to reduce chip and tear for superior gravel road endurance. Advanced tire footprint shape: Results in more evenly distributed stress for longer more uniform wear. Interlocking tread design: Increases tread block stability for more even wear over the long haul. Stone ejectors: Prevent stone retention and provide extra tread cleanout protection against stone drilling.
  • 10% more mud traction3 and 19% improved snow traction4: exceeding TRAC severe snow traction performance requirements to confidently get where you want to go. Side biter lugs: Protruding sidewall rubber blocks provide increased mud, snow and rock traction, especially in aired-down driving situations. Mud-buster bars: Raised bars in the shoulder tread area help release compacted mud for enhanced traction in muddy and soft soil conditions. Serrated shoulder design: staggered shoulder blocks that provide greater manœuverability in soft soil and deep snow conditions. Locking 3-D sipes: 3-D active sipe technology provides more biting edges for significantly increased snow traction. Meets Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC) requirements for severe snow traction.

Extraordinary Off-Road Performance. What it is: A combination of outstanding off-road traction, robust construction and aggressive aesthetics that provide race-proven performance. Who it's for: 4WD enthusiasts who want the latest in top off-road performance

After two years on these tires I feel confident in providing a review detailing my findings. The tires sit below a 2016 Ram 2500 HD Cummins. I live in glorious southern Alberta Canada. We experience snow, light rain, ice and dry pavement. The majority being hard pack snow covered roads and dry pavement. I purchased these tires because they came so highly recommended. After not being able to make it around uncleared roads in town with the stock Transforce HT's I knew I needed a tire that could restore my confidence in my truck during hunting season and beyond. I upgraded to the BFG T/A KO2's in November 2017. I had approximately 10000km on my vehicle with the previous tires. Initially the tires were unbelievably outstanding. I did not get stuck or even struggle for the remainder of the snow season with spring breaking in April. I did not switch to a summer specific tire either. Although I do drive on gravel, I would limit my gravel driving to about 20% of overall terrain encountered, at absolute maximum. That is where the positive experience with these tires ends. Approaching the winter 2018, (Roughly September October). I noticed severe treadwear. I will admit I did not have a depth gauge at this point so no accurate measurement of loss can be provided. However after a long hunting season in November on gravel, dirt and snow covered prairie I was down to a point where I began to struggle driving around town. It's now August 2019 and the tires are at 4/32nds. Legal limit in my province ins 3/32. The tires performed well in their first-year but the significant trade off being by the second year, there is nothing left. I currently have 60000km in my vehicle meaning I got 50000km out of tires which cost me $1800.00 and change. Maybe I'm expecting too much but considering the cost of the tires when you factor in lifespan and lifestyle I can't help but be disappointed. Maybe these tires are better suited for a light half ton. Maybe I didn't rotate enough. I'm not sure. But I can neither afford or recommend these tires

Low rating for snow and tread life due to new tire review 6 weeks in. In the past, I have had bad experiences with BFG, oem tires were BFG RT TA, horrible.. On this 3rd go arround with tires, price won out over brand preference ( nitto) So far I'm happy, ride, and noise levels take some getting used too, as I typically stick to a high way tire, not a fault of the All terrains.. Definitely, A excellent replacement for the OEM firestones on today's HD Rams, or other items..

Canadian Jeep AWD Driver! Got my BFG KO2's in November 2018. Been driving on them for 3 months now and through all weather conditions possible. They are amazing tires! They are a little noisier than my last set of all seasons but that's what to expect out of AT tires. They handle well on DRY pavement, WET Pavement and SNOW. Ice they do slip on if you're going too fast for the weather conditions and decide to slam on your breaks. NO tires out there will stop on ice without slippage. Learn the road conditions and adjust your driving accordingly. Only ignorant people blame their tires for their driving stupidity. We had bad weather last week where everyone complained how slippery the roads were but I had no issues getting to and from work. They are a slightly softer tire being an AT so I am expecting them to wear faster but their tread is also deeper than a regular tire so they should last 3-4 years no problem. I did go a size bigger tire than was recommended on my vehicle and there is slight rubbing when I crank my wheel all the way, but that is a minor issue and was told if I did this that could happen. My choices. Was supposed to get a $50 rebate, never saw the cheque. Called them today and they investigated right away and sending me a new one. Customer service was great. If you're debating on getting them or not, I say yes, take the chance. They are worth it.
