Bridgestone engineered the Blizzak™ WS-80™ so you can conquer the cold, snow and ice. With a suite of features that deliver trusty traction in all winter weather, it´s easy to see why Blizzak is "the official tire of winter".

  • A new Hydrophilic Coating reacts to the elements for confident stopping power on snow and ice. Advanced Multicell Compount® with Nano Pro-Tech® works at a molecular level to remain pliable in cold.
  • New Cavity Shape distributes contact pressure uniformly across the entire footprint area for even wear and dry, ice and snow performance.
  • Bite particles act like microscopic studs providing confident road grip and braking on ice. 3D Zigzag Sipes create biting edges without sacrificing block stiffness. Increased block edges by 20% (compared to WS70) for better handling on snow and slush.

2016 Ford Mustang GT I've had these tires for 2 winter seasons and compared to even the Michelin X-Ice Xi3's which are rated the best winter tire in the market these tires for "my" car are much better in the snow and ice than the Michelin Xi3 series. Since I've had both tires because the Xi3's were the first one I got but sold them weeks right after getting them because they weren't good in the heavy snow or even fresh laid snow which is where it really counts for this type of car. The Michelin Xi3's would destroy these Blizzak's in every other category besides what I had just mentioned above but after seeing how good they were on the worse weather I kept them purely for safety! The WORSE complaint I have with these are the HORRIBLE gas consumption that these tires are know for and after reading some reviews about it I just didn't think it could be that bad if I drove normal and not an aggressive driver and this is also my daily. I use to get 16km+ for Liter and now it's averaging 7.1km (Per/Liter) which is so bad that I'm filling up at $71.00CAD every 4-5 days of driving, and this is conservative driving! Important note: This Blizzak or the Zi3's tires in general are not rated for my vehicle so please keep that in mind and if you had a vehicle that was rated for these tires I'm pretty sure the Michelin Xi3's will be your BEST bet as I've had every single line of Michelin tires from the MXV4, Premiere's, Xi3's & Pilot Sport and nothing comes close!

Tires are great in snow and ice. I can drive more confidently in the winter and more so than some trucks with all-seasons. The tread-wear is abysmal, especially if there isn't much snow during winter like it is here in Calgary...

While I had heard over the years that Blizzak tires were really awesome in the winter my experience with them so far has been pretty poor. One icy roads, and in snow, they perform quite well and you'd expect this from a winter tire. In slightly warmer temperatures where the road is wet and it rains heavily the tires are EXTREMELY poor for handling. It doesn't take much throttle on my car to spin the back out when it's wet outside with these tires. They might be OK for a normal economy car, but for a high performance sports car they're very poor. I should've sprung another $400 total and just got performance winter tires, but lesson learned. Will not buy these again.
