Does This Tire Fit?

Racing heritage. Retro look. Updated with UNI-T technology. Today's Firehawk Wide Oval is a lot more tire than it once was. Now, performance is ultra high. Turns are tight. Handling is precise. Traction is exceptional in both wet and dry conditions. The Wide Oval has been inspired by the track. This time, it's ready to rule the road.

  • Innovative Tire Design - A Comprehensive Tire Design Method. This method improves handling in wet or dry conditions and reduces irregular treadwear by combining an ideal tread design, casing shape, materials and construction.
  • Innovative Roundness- Roundness Is Better.Rounder overall tire shape provides better balance for wet or dry handling.
  • Innovative Compound- Longer Is Stronger.L.L. Carbon utilizes a special form of molecular re-engineered carbon black, a key factor in improving tire wear while enhancing wet performance.
  • Silica.Tread rubber compound reinforced with Silica enhances traction, especially in cold, wet weather when conventional rubber compounds can get brittle and lose grip.
  • Consistent Surface Contact (C.S.C) C.S.C., a pattern of tread blocks designed for uniform contact pressure, improves dry and wet handling, reduces irregular wear, and results in better ride comfort.
  • Spiral Wrap.Spiral Wrap is a continuous nylon wrap that encircles the whole tire, helping the tire hold its original shape to improve high speed capability.
  • Weather Grip HP Tread Compound. This is a special performance tread compound formulation containing SBR and L.L. Carbon in a blend designed to promote long-wearing durability and outstanding wet performance without sacrificing dry performance.

My vette came with these tires and I must say, they are not that bad. However, I won't be buying another set because the price is very high compared to other tires. But keep in mind people, run flat tires are good for everyday driving which I do and I know if I get a flat that it will not tare my fender up which is a plus. These tire have a good life especially considering I drive my vette only like once or twice a week and take it to shows and sometmes to the drag track. Not bad at the drag track but, it is no radial tire. I would recommend to buy these once and see how you like it. The only reason I will not be buying is because my car will get a increase in 100+ hp and I know I will need a better tire. thanks.

Very good tire on warm dry days but the tires are prone to loosing traction on wet roads. This seems to be true for both hot and cool days. My first set of firestone tires. They wear rather quickly when compared to the Bridgestones that I ran on my 400whp 335i coupe.

Do not use these tires if you are going to drive in the snow, never drove on a tire that spins on acceleration and skids on stops the way these do. Its a shame we can't drive this car in the winter. I will be looking for a new set of tires before next winter!
