 Michelin X-Ice Xi3

Not sure why some folks don't like these. Maybe it's my vehicle? I have two vehicles in family - Hakkepellita's on one (wifes Highlander) and this on mine. All I can say, when it's icy and snowy out, I feel much safer in my outback then I do in the Highlander (and Hakki's are the #1 rated tire???). My Outback stops much quicker on ice, gets going much faster on ice, and though I've tried I can't lose control when corning on ice even when trying (my car just rights itself and the tires will find grip on all but the most slickest of surfaces). Like I said, maybe it's the car? But when I need another set of winters, I'll be getting these (I was running the Nitto winters before this, this is my second set of winters now - and these easily beat the Nitto's).

 Michelin Defender

Replaced original Continental tires which were very quiet and was getting great gas mileage. The Defenders handle exceptionally well on wet roads and good in snow however are extremely noisy and the gas mileage has dropped considerably from previously 6.6L per 100K to an average of 9.0. In fact the vehicle now needs extra power on steep hills. Would replace them but cannot afford the cost in doing so.These are new tires with only about 500 KM on them and the performance mentioned above began as soon as installed.

 Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring

These are rated 80000 miles I have over 70000 on them on a 2011 Outback filled with nitrogen. Ride great , rotated 3 times still have plenty of thread left 5/32 on them . I did like the CS4 touring better .But these are still a excellent tire .

 Michelin Premier A-S

I did a lot of homework looking around for tires. I finally picked the Michelin Premier. I thought I would love these tires but I noticed the ride wasn’t as nice as other Michelin tires I have purchased. I rotate, rotate, rotate my tires but I noticed and so did my service dept that my tires were wearing out faster than they should. I am 65 years old and drive like a Gramma. Yesterday I found 2 nails close together in one tire and I was told it could not be fixed due to one of the nails were on the outside tread and the nails were within 4 inches of each other. After verifying that story, I had to buy new tires because I have a AWD vehicle. Needless to say my clerk where I bought my tires convinced me to buy BFGoodrich tires instead of Michelin. We have always owned Michelin. I was told Michelin would only help just a little bit on a adjustment on the price of my new tires. I decided to purchased the BF Goodrich tires. So far .. in 24 hours I am noticing the ride is so much smoother than the Michelin. I can only hope they will last longer than the Michelin which I did not get my money’s worth. Disappointed in Utah...

 Yokohama Avid Envigor

Ratings based on limited use since I had to replace these tires after 26K and 1 year of use. All tires were either illegal or tread depth was at a critical depth. Will never buy Yokohama tires again.
