Times came with new truck from GMC. Performed average, but not great. Especially in the snow. Almost always had to use 4WD for any snow at all. The big shocker came in the mileage. By 15,000 miles, not enough tread for off-road or snow and at wear limit at 20,000 miles. Worst lasting stock tires for a car/truck that I have ever owned.
My GMC came from the factory with these tires . I had a bad vibration the first time I went 70 mph in the truck . That was at 750 miles . I took it to the dealer and they determined that it was my tires . They roadforce balanced them ,but not before switching out 2 of the tires . After switching out 2 ,they then had to switch out one more before they got tires they were able to balance . Even then they said one of them was just within spec ,but they put it on the back .4 days later I got my truck back . When I hit 10,000 miles I decided to rotate them and my vibration came back . The one tire that was just within spec could not be balanced . I will now have to buy new tires on my truck with 10,000 miles on it if I want a smooth ride . Needless to say they won't be Generals
At first didn't like these tires . Spun at times on wet roads . But just had a few days of snow and ice and they handled quite well . I live in the city with lots of hills and had no problems . I don't drive off road so can't comment on that but these seem like a good all around tire .
These tires came with the vehicle upon new purchase. Within 2 months, I returned with a very noticeable vibration shake at speed in excess of 105 km/h . The dealer outsourced "rebalancing" of all 4 tires to a "Road Force Balancing" machine, which improved the vibration. 11 months later the vibration was back. Following regular balancing, it was re-sent to get road force balancing again. ( it appears to compensate for quality control issues in the tire) . Getting replacement tires, or different tires from the dealer was futile. Maybe should have contacted Goodyear. I suspect this to be a recurring problem.. Anyhow, I will never purchase another Goodyear product in the future.
These tires on the KMC XD Crank rims give a very aggressive look to his truck. We are from Fort McMurray and he drives for the most part on the highway and is quite happy with the noise level of the tires. We were recently part of the city evacuation due to wildfires, which meant a lot of very rapid stop and start traffic, and the tires performed flawlessly, with excellent grip during braking/acceleration and hard cornering/maneuvering. Wear is excellent as well. Very happy with them.
