Bought these for my F-150. I never seem to find "the ones" that are above and beyond the rest. And it's still the case with the Falken. I went to a 265 from a 275 and still not as good as I thought it would be. Breaking on ice or snow is not as good as I would've expected. The ABS is always kicking in. Fishtailing was actually the worst I had experienced at first but for some reason, it seems a little better now. Turning is really bad on slushy snow. All in all, not dissatisfied but my son went with the Duratrac with 18/32s as well and it looks like I should've gone with those instead. He's got the short box which has always made his truck a little better in winter but he claims to be feeling the better winter traction with them.
I really like the tires so far ,I can't comment on how they handle snow ,since i havent had to put them through that test yet , But i would definetly recommend the tires ,1010 Tires were fantastic to deal with , the service was incredible .I would also and have recommended 1010 Tires to purchase tires from. I,m also not sure what the tire wear will be like since i havent put alot of km's on them yet ,but seem to be wearing nicely .
Dry handling is squishy and flimsy while concerning but ultimately secure. Wet handling is very good but emergency braking is scary as these tires slide to a stop . Winter is where these tires shine, they handle all types of snow and slush with ease and that gives you confidence while driving in harsh Canadian winters. On ice they are actually surpringly good . My biggest gripe is the ride, it is so brutal, you feel every dip, bump and piece of whatever on the road, it really is quite annoying. Noise is just "ok". A slight hiss of wind noise starts at low speeds but doesn't get much worse or louder at highway speeds. All in all, in my size (which could explain the rough ride given that these are D range tires) I would not buy again
Performs well in the snow but when you hit a patch of ice...LOOK OUT!!! Horrible ice tire and very dangerous! I couldn't get them off my 4c4 truck fast enough! Replacing them tomorrow! Tires scallop very easily and wear out in chunks! Don't waste your money unless you don't need to drive in icy conditions ever!
Had first set on for 110000 km
Rotated tires every second oil change.
My brother in-law is a shop for man at a Ford dealer was amazed that the tires lasted so long. I told I don't drive my truck like I'm in a race all the time, and mentioned they spin very quietly if you step on it, do if the radio is on you don't hear them wearing away.
Rattles the seats at 50 mph. Complained from day one. Have 10,000 miles on now. Dealer won't offer any solution other than some used tires if they come in on a trade. Discussed with the Pirelli tires and the dealer. A 25 year relationship with the dealer, up in smoke!
These tires are fantastic. I have about 18,000 miles on them now and they ride phenomenal. I have driven on them during long trips from Florida to Louisiana and very comfortable. The cool 4x4 tire noise is subtle at first but as the wear it gets louder. I love it. The wear could be a little better but for the price it is very good. The wet weather traction is excellent so far and I live in Fl. where it rains almost every other day. I would definitely buy this again. The snow rating was a guess because it doesn't snow in Fl.
Have over 50000KM on these tires over 3 seasons. Love them and they have not failed me yet. I would stud the tires next time for the mountain road but they were the best value winter tire and would buy them again.
Best truck tire I have ever bought. I have a little over 82,000 miles on this set, think I can squeeze another 5,000 out of them before they will have to be replaced. I drive probably 85% highway, 15% gravel, dirt or off road. In my opinion anytime you can get almost 90,000 miles from a set of truck tires, you can't go wrong.
